"All Members will by now have received a request for payment of this year's subscription. Regrettably there is an increase in dues caused mainly by the drop of over £500 in the interest we receive on our legacy. Dining costs also have an impact.
It is unfortunate that Grand Lodge, Provincial Lodge and the Farnham Masonic Hall Co. all send in their annual dues requests at the beginning of our Masonic year & to enable payment to be made I have to rely on Members paying their subscriptions on time.
Thank you to all bretheren who have sent me their cheques, particularly those who paid early. This is an enormous help to me as Treasurer, as without your assistance there would not be enough funds to settle on time.
I am sure you appreciate that subscriptions are calculated at the lowest feasable level with considerable help from the Legacy interest. Also your dining costs have been held at £15.50 which must be the cheapest at Castle Street.
Hopefully this will continue, but future low interest & unpaid subscriptions do not help my goal of keeping costs affordable for everyone."
